The City of Renton is seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on the Park Commission.
Members serve four-year terms; the term of the current vacancy expires in 2013.
The Park Commission has members, who serve without pay, must live in Renton and must be able to attend meetings the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 4:30 p.m. In conjunction with the mayor and City Council, the Park Commission reviews and recommends the operation of parks and recreational programs and activities.
The commission will recommend a candidate to the mayor and the appointment will be confirmed by the City Council.
To apply for membership, download an application from the Boards and Commissions website at rentonwa.gov or call 425-430-6604 to have an application mailed. Completed applications should be mailed to the City of Renton, Mayor’s Office, 1055 S. Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057. Applications are kept for one year. Interviews will be held in March for the current vacancy.
