Renton fire crews put out kitchen fire in Bryn Mawr

A fire in a kitchen caused by food burning on the stove caused about $5,000 damage to a home in Bryn Mawr Monday night, according to King County Fire District 20.

A fire in a kitchen caused by food burning on the stove caused about $5,000 damage to a home in Bryn Mawr Monday night, according to King County Fire District 20.

No one was injured and the family was being assisted by other family members, according to David Nelson, a fire district spokesman.

Fire crews from Renton and Tukwila and Medic One  also responded to the fire on West Hill at about 7:30 p.m. in the 8200 block of South 123rd Street.

The fire was quickly put out by Renton firefighters, which limited damage to the kitchen and living room, according to Nelson.

The fire district reminds residents that they should turn off burners if they leave the kitchen for any time.
