Renton City Council to receive flooding briefing

The Renton City Council will receive a special presentation Monday (Oct. 5) on the potential impacts of flooding from a weakened Howard Hanson Dam.

The presentation will provide information on the potential flooding in the Green River Valley, the impacts to Renton, who and what could be affected, the city’s preparedness efforts and what businesses and citizens can do to be prepared.

Representatives from the city’s Public Works Department, Fire & Emergency Services Department and other staff will provide information and resources.

The briefing is at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers, seventh floor, Renton City Hall, 1055 S. Grady Way.

The presentation will be telecast live and replayed throughout the week on the city’s cable Channel 21. The presentation can also be viewed on the city’s Web site at Channel 21.
