A teenager expelled from Liberty Park for drinking and publicly urinating was arrested a few weeks later for visiting the same park Sept. 30.

The officer asked the youth why he was in the park after being arrested there on two prior occasions; the youth didn’t have a response.

A K9 unit cleared the scene, before the woman found a jar of about $200 cash had been taken.

Attempted car theft

A thief unsuccessfully tried stealing a F250 Ford pickup truck locked behind a barbed-wire fence at the Sound Ford dealership Sept. 28.

The car didn’t have any exterior damage but the inside dash and console were ripped out.

Several of the company’s tools were scattered throughout the truck, as well as tools stolen from a tow truck parked nearby.

Police initially followed him from the West Valley Highway, where he was driving 25 mph in a 50 mph zone, and at one point he was driving in the gutter.

The group left before police arrived. A license plate check came back with the wrong style car and an invalid license plate number.

Neighbor gives chase

A neighbor gave chase to two men suspected of breaking into a woman’s home on the 11600 block of Sotheast 163rd Street Sept. 26.

His wife saw the two men leaving the home when the homeowner arrived, and he chased them in his pickup truck while the wife called 911.

Police arrested two suspects, but no one could give a positive identification.

The suspects broke into the shed, but didn’t take anything. They then tried breaking into the home by first smashing a window and then tried to pry open a door. It’s unknown if the suspects made entry, but nothing was reported missing.
