The City of Renton will start the process to develop a community plan and shared vision for the future of the Benson area on Wednesday.

The Benson area includes areas annexed in 2008, such as Cascade, Renton Park, Spring Glen, Huntington Heights, Vantage Glen, Woodbury Heights, Chinquapin Ridge and Benson.

The meeting is 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Renton Park Elementary School, 16828 128th Ave. S.E.

Community members can share their ideas and provide input on what you like about the community, what should stay the same, what should change and improve, and more.

City staff will provide information on the projects the city has been working on, identify potential “quick win” projects, and provide information on the purpose of neighborhood plans.

Participants will have the opportunity to share their ideas for shaping the future of their community.

For more information check out the city’s new interactive website, www.BensonPlan.org, and learn more about community planning, upcoming meetings, and the progress of the planning effort. It’s also a place to  get community news updates, leave comments, and upload pictures and comments on an interactive map.

Facebook users can follow the plan’s progress as well by searching for “Benson Plan” or going to www.facebook.com/BensonPlan.
