Puget Drive to close for about 24 hours starting Saturday morning for I-405 work

Puget Drive between Talbot Road and Benson Drive will close completely from 6 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday as part of the improvements to Interstate 405.

Access to local businesses will be allowed.

The state Department of Transportation is building a half-diamond interchange at Talbot Road that will include an onramp to northbound I-405 and an off-ramp from southbound I-405 to Talbot.

The Renton Stage 2 widening project also is adding a lane in both directions between SR 167 and SR 169, as well as a new overpass for Benson Road.

Work on the freeway will have the following impacts on travel:

• Monday, June 7 – the morning of Friday, June 11: Up to two lanes of northbound I-405 between SR 167 and SR 169 will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

• Monday, June 7 – the morning of Friday, June 11: Up to two lanes of southbound I-405 between SR 169 and SR 167 will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
