This week marks the fifth in the month of July, which means there are no City Council or committee meetings scheduled for the week.

Of note, however, is a Hearing Examiner public hearing on the design of the new downtown library and on the appeal from the citizens’ group Save the Cedar River Library … Again! regarding the lack of a cultural and historical mitigation on the environmental review documents. The hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

The Council resumes its regular schedule next week. The Finance Committee will meet at 4:30 Aug. 5 and the Community Services Committee will follow at 5:30 p.m.

The Committee of the Whole meeting usually scheduled for before the regular council meeting of Aug. 5 has also been canceled and replaced with a reception for Kirby Unti.
