Renton police officers captured a man at about 9 a.m. today (Wednesday) whom they had been chasing through a neighborhood in the Highlands for about a half-hour.

Several police officers chased the suspect, jumped fences and searched backyards and buildings, before the man was caught in the 600 block of Bremerton Avenue Northeast near Renton Technical College. Broken fences helped them track the man.

“Nice job,” said the dispatcher when the man was caught.

The man was a suspect in a theft. The search began around 8:30 a.m. and the suspect was captured at 8:55 a.m.
