A man called police after someone hit his car and left the scene, but he ended up getting a citation for wrongfully stopping on a roadway Sept. 30.

The man had stopped, because he saw an ambulance traveling the opposite direction on the 2100 block of Sunset Boulevard.

It was 11:30 p.m., raining and the road curved down on a slope.

It wasn’t necessary that he stop, and the officer cited him for it.

The man who fled the scene admitted that it was because he didn’t have insurance.
