Police Blotter: DUI, hit and run

A drunken woman caused a car wreck and fled the scene, at the 200 block of Southwest Sunset Boulevard, only to be discovered a few blocks away Aug. 18.

When police pulled her over their inquired about the door, which was too bent to open all the way, and the car’s right corner, which was smashed.

The Lynwood woman responded that she was in a car accident, and now her vehicle was having problems.

Police asked why she left the scene, and she said she hadn’t left the scene.

After failing multiple sobriety tests, police performed a breathalyzer test. The woman had a 0.159 percent blood alcohol rate.

The officer arrested the woman, taking her to the Blood Alcohol Content room in the station, where the woman shouted, “Who cares if I’m drunk. I got a lawyer, and I will be out of jail tomorrow.”
