Renton Mayor Armondo Pavone will serve as vice president for the Sound Cities Association Board of Directors for the 2025 year.
The Sound Cities Association represents 38 cities in King County and provides a regional voice for the interests of more than one million people. Pavone was unanimously elected to this role on the Board of Directors for SCA, which consists of council members and mayors in King County elected by their peers to oversee the 38-city association. Cities in King County with a population under 250,000 make up the association.
“Mayor Pavone is an excellent asset to the Association, as a forward-thinking and collaborative leader who cares deeply about the impact of decisions we make today that will shape the future of the Puget Sound region,” said Des Moines Mayor and SCA President Traci Buxton. “I’m looking forward to working with him this year as Vice President.”
Pavone was first elected to the SCA Board of Directors in 2023 and began his second term in 2025.
“I’m looking forward to working with President Buxton on her goals to strengthen collaboration and enhance member services for the organization. SCA members have a real opportunity to make the needs of our respective communities heard,” Pavone said.
Pavone served as a Renton City Councilmember for seven years prior to his election as mayor in 2019. Pavone is an active community supporter, serving on several regional and city boards and committees, including the Puget Sound Regional Council.
