About 300 emergency preparedness kits were assembled last Thursday by about 140 volunteers at an event sponsored by the Highlands Community Association.
The kits will go to senior citizens and the disabled in Renton so they have a better chance of surviving an disaster or other emergency.
The original goal was to assemble about 200 kits.
