Lindbergh senior wins Renton Lions scholarship

Marcus Ramirez is this year’s recipient of the Renton Lions Club’s annual scholarship. Ramirez is a senior at Lindbergh High School. He will receive $1,000 for college tuition and books upon enrollment.

Renton Tech names Exceptional Faculty and Staff award winners

Renton Technical College Foundation recently announced its Exceptional Faculty and Staff Award recipients. Each winner will receive a plaque and a $500 award. The awards are sponsored by Puget Sound Energy and First Savings Bank Northwest.

Man, 24, robbed in downtown Renton garage

A 24-year-old man was assaulted at about 10:10 p.m. Monday in the downtown city parking garage on Burnett Avenue South, according to Renton police. The City of Renton will soon install enhanced security cameras at the Metro Transit Center in an effort to help prosecute such crimes. The victim told police he was assaulted after he had gotten off a bus at the Transit Center.
