Main work set for June Culvert repair under way

Crews will begin placing 20-foot sections of culvert under Interstate 405 the third week of June to replace a culvert that collapsed in a massive winter storm in December, threatening the stability of the freeway.

Closure of Duvall Avenue for widening delayed

A key commuter corridor between Renton and Factoria – Duvall Avenue Northeast – will not close as scheduled on Monday for the start of a major widening project because the contractor has yet to receive a key permit, according to city officials.

Local nurse named ‘Professional of the Year’ by board

Marianne Houlne has been a nurse for the past 20 years, and a certified nurse for about 10 years. Houlne, 51, of the Renton area has accomplished a lot during that time. In addition to treating patients, she’s served on regional and national nursing certification boards and written test questions for national nursing certification exams.
