One dead following Wednesday night shooting in Skyway

A 21-year-old man died last night after being shot multiple times during a fight in Skyway Wednesday night.

A 21-year-old man died last night after being shot multiple times during a fight in Skyway Wednesday night.

Deputies responded to a report of shooting in the area of South 112Street and Renton Avenue South around 8:11 p.m. on Wednesday, arriving within minutes of the call, and began providing aid to the victim, who has not been identified. Medics were called to the scene and transported him to Harborview in Seattle where he later died.

According to witnesses, a male suspect fled in a car with several other people northbound from the scene. Responding deputies, Guardian 1, and other agencies assisted in the search for the suspects but were unsuccessful in locating them.

Witnesses are cooperating with detectives who are trying sort out of what occurred, who the involved individuals are, and the suspect vehicle description.

It is unknown what started the fight, the relationship between the two groups of men, or if this is gang related. Detectives believe there is only one shooting suspect involved in this murder.
