Old Renton Book Exchange to close its doors

After many attempts to save it, the Old Renton Book Exchange is closing its doors forever on Nov. 30.

After many attempts to save it, the Old Renton Book Exchange is closing its doors forever on Nov. 30.

Store owner Dacia Hanson sent out an email to friends and patrons letting them know about the closure on Saturday.

“While I am sad to see the shop closing and am going to miss Downtown Renton so much I am excited and a little relieved to be moving on,” said Hanson via email. “It was just time for us to try something new.”

The store has been a part of the downtown Renton scene for just under five years. Hanson is planning a giant store sale with everything priced at $1.

The store will still participate in Small Business Saturday and have their traditional bake sale on Nov. 29. A big farewell party is planned for 7 p.m., Nov. 29 and the community is invited to attend.
