This week's police blotter includes a runaway puppy, a suspect found with cocaine and Xanax, an unwelcomed house guest and a surprising robbery.

The following information was compiled from Renton Police Department case reports.

An 18-year-old man was charged with Indecent Exposure Aug. 31 at the Dollar Tree on Sunset Boulevard. The suspect reportedly exposed himself to two female customers at the store.

One customer said she was walking down an aisle when suspect, standing in front of her, pulled his shorts down to expose himself. She gasped and the suspect laughed. She immediately walked away.

The second victim said she was walking down an aisle when she saw the suspect standing there, exposing his penis and testicles. The suspect asked her if she worked out at LA Fitness and if she had a man. The victim said she, “Yes I do,” and walked away.

Officers identified the suspect waiting at a bus stop in front of the store. Suspect told officers he was in the store to use the bathroom and that he didn’t expose himself to anyone. He also commented that it wasn’t his fault if his stuff was hanging out.

He was booked at SCORE jail in Des Moines.

Run, doggy, run: A passerby called 911 to report that a pomeranian and shih tzu mixed puppy was locked inside of a car Aug. 23 at the Discount Tire parking lot at Grady Way South.

An officer arrived at the scene to find the dog locked inside, hiding under the driver’s seat and panting heavily. The weather was approximately 79 degrees.

After waiting for 30 minutes, the officer unlocked the vehicle with a lock-picking tool, and tried to give the dog food and water. But the dog was aggressive and tried to bite the officer.

The officer then escorted the dog to the patrol vehicle using a “come along stick” and took it to a city shops.

When they arrived at the shops, the dog jumped out of vehicle and ran away. The officer was unable to locate the dog.

Drugs-apade: Police were contacted Aug. 25 because a 43-year-old man was asleep in a tow truck, seemingly intoxicated at the 200 block of Rainier Avenue South.

While trying to verbally wake him up, an officer noticed a plastic bag protruding form the suspect’s belt buckle area. After repeatedly telling the suspect that he could not continue to sleep in the truck, he exited the vehicle.

As he got out, a small black baggie with white, powdery substance fell from his waist. Suspecting it to be cocaine, the officer called for backup and handcuffed the suspect. While searching him, the officer found several crumbled white pills that had hash marks engraved on them. “I have a prescription for those,” the suspect said.

He had in his possession 0.04 grams of suspected cocaine and 1.64 grams of Xanax pill. He was booked at SCORE jail.

Mi casa, su casa: A 23-year-old man was arrested Aug. 30 for assaulting a 22-year-old woman at her residence located at the 400 block of Smithers Avenue South.

The suspect entered the property and took off a window screen to enter the residence. When the owner of the house asked him what he was doing, suspect replied that his girlfriend was a tenant at the residence. When the owner told him to leave, the suspect told the him to shut up or that he’d beat him.

The owner’s daughter intervened and the suspect told her, “Bitch I’ll beat your ass.” He placed both hands on her chest and pushed her back. The female victim then called 911.

According to the suspect, he got into a verbal altercation with the owner while he was trying to enter the residence through the window. He also said he never put his hands on the female victim.

The suspect was booked at SCORE jail.

Evening walk robbery: A married couple was walking westbound Aug. 29 on the 100 block of Southwest Fifth Place when two male suspects approached them.One of the suspects pushed the male victim to the ground and took his phone. The second suspect grabbed the female victim’s gold necklace.

Both suspects then fled the scene.

According to a witness, the suspects got away in a dark-colored sedan, but he was unable to obtain the license plate number, or the make and model of the vehicle.
