They told police that a 45-year-old man and his 38-year-old girlfriend moved next to them a few years ago and have since been harassing them.
The man had previously filed a lawsuit against the women and lost. He has another lawsuit pending against the women because their trees are too high on their property.
According to the women, the man videotapes them anytime they are outside and calls them names.
He is apparently upset because the trees block his view, even though they have been trimmed.
The women were inquiring about filing out an anti-harassment order with the King County Courts.
Siblings argue
Police confronted two out-of-control siblings on April 4.
Police were called to a residence in the 9600 block of 177th Street about 6:40 p.m.
The 40-year-old mother complained that her 12-year-old daughter pushed her and grabbed her 10-year-old brother because she was grounded from a school function.
The daughter had climbed a tree and was hiding out there when police arrived.
When police asked her what happened, she explained that she was upset for being grounded from the school event and that she grabbed her brother in a “hug” to get him to stop harassing her.
Police advised the 12-year-old to seek assistance from a school counselor if she was having problems in school or at home.
Police also talked to the girl’s 10-year-old brother, who came home from school in a bad mood and started peeling the bark off a backyard tree.
The tree is his sister’s favorite apparently and started the two arguing.
Man shot
A 38-year-old Renton man arrived at Highline Hospital with a gunshot wound on April 5.
Renton police officers were called to the hospital by staff there who admitted a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand.
The man appeared to be intoxicated and would not give police any information about the shooting, except that it happened somewhere in the Renton Highlands.
The man was brought to the hospital by a friend, who also would not give complete information about where he picked up his friend or the circumstances around the shooting.
Both of the men are convicted felons.
Based on the description police got from hospital staff, the wound might have been self-inflicted.
Scuffle at home
A scuffle took place at an adult-care home between a patient and staff member on April 6.
The 64-year-old staff member was heard struggling with a 26-year-old mentally handicapped patient.
Then another staff member saw the female staff worker hold one of the patient’s arms telling him to stop. Then the worker hit the patient in the face with her hand.
When confronted by police, the staff person said the patient charged her, even though she told him to stop.
She attempted to control him by pushing him down into a chair and said she may have hit him by accident in the face.
Police determined no assault occurred.
