Almost three weeks following heavy rain and flooding, a second mudslide along the Maple Valley Highway, or SR-169, in Renton caused a closure of the westbound/northbound lane of the highway.
The City of Renton reported the mudslide Monday, Jan. 5, saying that cleanup crews were on the scene that traffic is expected to be impacted. Within a few hours, the road was re-opened.
The small mudslide was located across from the Rivera Apartments at 2201 Southeast Maple Valley Hwy, like a previous mudslide that had caused a partial closure on the busy highway for several hours on Dec. 16.
