The next meeting to convene on design plans for the Sunset Neighborhood Master Plan is June 18.

The meeting is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at McKnight Middle School, 1200 Edmonds Ave NE, Renton. Community members last met May 1 to review plans submitted by landscape architect HBB and engineer CH2MHILL.

With just a small turnout of about 20 people, the group preferred one of the presented park footprints called the “Promenade” more than the others. Collectively the two discussion groups favored the placement of park components in two of the other park options, a summary report stated. Participants liked the direct circulation routes in the “Promenade” option as well as the many entrance points and placement of activity near the commercial side of the other two options. Community members are being asked to come and weigh-in on what’s been decided so far at the upcoming meeting on June 18.
