A Sammamish man, who briefly went into convulsions, was detained Nov. 2 as he walked from Fry’s Electronics, 800 Garden Ave. N., in an attempt to shoplift some electronic gear, according to Renton Police.
He convulsed on the floor after he was detained; he told authorities he suffers from epilepsy, according to the report. Renton medics checked him over and cleared him medically for transport to the Renton City Jail.
A Fry’s loss-prevention officer told police he watched the suspect select an iPod Classic 120 GB MP3 Player in a case. He then removed the iPod and accessories from the case, which he placed inside his pockets, according to the police report.
He then walked from the store and was stopped near the front door. A video card fell from inside his jacket. “I don’t know where that came from,” he told the officer.
The stolen items were valued at about $360. He was booked into Renton City Jail for investigation of second-degree theft, a felony. His wife was asked to bring his epilepsy medication to the jail.
