Man, 58, killed in crash on Monster Road identified

A 58-year-old was killed the afternoon of Sept. 9 when his motorcycle and a truck collided on Monster Road in southwest Renton.

A 58-year-old was killed the afternoon of Sept. 9 when his motorcycle and a truck collided on Monster Road in southwest Renton.

The King County Medical Examiner identified the man as Eugene B. Lange. His death was ruled an accident. His hometown wasn’t available.

The investigation by the Renton Police Department indicated that alcohol, drugs, or excessive speed were not involved, according to department spokeswoman Terri Vickers.

The accident at about 4 p.m. closed Monster Road between Southwest Seventh Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way for several  hours.  Medics attempted to revive the man, but he died at the scene.

He was wearing a helmet.

Monster Road is a commuter bypass route often used to avoid going through downtown Renton.
