The city of Renton is hosting an open house for the Kennydale fire station 15 and reservoir project from 6 to 8 p.m. on July 12 at the North Highlands Community Center gymnasium, 3000 NE 16th St.
The conceptual design work is available for review and community members will be able to ask questions and learn more about the design and schedule of the project.
For those unable to make it to the open house, there is a online open house scheduled for July 10 to 14 at https://kennydaleproject.participate.online/. You will be able to get a summary and breakdown of the project, as well as review the conceptual design and submit feedback.
The fire station and reservoir project aims to meet the neighborhood and city goals for greater safety and water supply reliability. The project site is located at North 30th Street, and construction is projected to start next year.
The fire station will cost $5.5 million and funding for it was part of the package approved by Renton and Fire District No. 25 voters in April 2016..
The reservoir will cost $7 million, and funding for this will come from the Water Utility Capital Improvement Project budget.
