A tip from a citizen led to a five month investigation.

King County Sheriff’s Office arrested five people and seized large amounts of marijuana following a tip from a citizen.

After five months of investigation, detectives seized 6,000 marijuana plants, 180 pounds of processed marijuana and $3 million in cash at a Newcastle house located in the 8600 block of 118th Avenue Southeast, according to a KCSO press release.

Detectives served search warrants on 27 locations in King County. The five people who were arrested face multiple charges, including Manufacturing of Marijuana.

KCSO also seized five houses they believed were purchased by marijuana sales.
