It’s going to get cold in Renton this weekend and even colder early next week – more so than the weatherman earlier predicted.
Snow is expected to fall Sunday night and into Monday. How much isn’t included in the forecast, but the weatherman is using the term showers.
As of this writing late Thursday afternoon, it’s dark in Renton and 45 degrees at Renton Municipal Airport, where the National Weather Service monitors conditions.
The weatherman earlier this week warned everyone that cold air from western Canada was going to move south. It’s here.
Tonight, the low should get to around 38 degrees, with a 70 percent chance of precipitation (probably too warm for snow). That will soon feel balmy.
Through Saturday, the highs will remain fairly consistently in the mid 40s, with relatively light winds and more than a 50 percent chance of precipitation.
Come Saturday night, the low will dip to around 32 degrees, with clouds and a 50 percent chance of precipitation, likely snow.
Sunday, the highs will start looking like Thursday’s low and through next Wednesday will remain in the mid to upper 30s.
The weatherman is calling for a chance of rain or snow showers Sunday night, with a low around 30. Monday, it’s a flatout chance of snow showers, with a high of near 36 and a low Monday night of a chilly 25.
After Monday, the highs are forecast for the mid 30s with the sun in evidence Tuesday. The chance of showers returns Wednesday and Wednesday night.
For Turkey Day – a week away – this is what the weatherman is forecasting:
A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37.
He doesn’t mention anything about power-interrupting winds.
