A collision was blocking the right two lanes of southbound Interstate 405 just south of State Route 167 interchange late Monday afternoon, according to the Washington state Department of Transportation.

The accident occurred just before 4:30 p.m. The Washington State Patrol and medic units are at the scene.

The accident was cleared at about 5:15 p.m.

The accident caused backups at the intersection of SR 167/Rainier Avenue and Grady Way.
