Wondering what to do with all the yard debris that’s been collecting since the snow and ice storms hit last week?
There are multiple green recyclers available in the area that are collecting tree limbs.
On Monday, Renton crews traveled through the city removing tree limbs and woody debris from streets and also removing sand with sweeper trucks. First, the City of Renton recommends residents place trees and branches in their yard and food-waste carts.
Trees and branches must be trimmed to less than four feet in length and not exceed four inches in diameter.
If carts quickly fill up, the city recommends placing debris in cardboard boxes, paper or compostable bags. It can also be bundled in less than 3 1/2 feet in any dimension, as long as it doesn’t exceed 60 pounds. Limbs will be picked up on the next scheduled collection day. Excess tree branches and limbs can be disposed of at the following locations and fees may apply:
• Cedar Grove Composting in Maple Valley, 425-432-2395
• Rainier Wood Recyclers in Covington, 425-222-0008
• Pacific Topsoils in Tukwila 1-800-884-7645
Commercial and multifamily customers who do not subscribe to yard waste service, may dispose of their material and the above listed locations as well. For more information check out the county’s “What Do I Do With” website here.
