Both directions of State Route 18 at the Tiger Mountain summit were closed at about 3:45 p.m. Monday afternoon because of snow on the road, according to the Washington state Department of Transportation.

Transportation department sand and plow trucks were en route to the highway. An alternative route is to take Interstate 405 north to Bellevue to connect to I-90

Mid-afternoon, the state had closed Snoqualmie Pass for avalanche control.
