Four robberies in a week’s timespan | Renton police blotter

Gun flashing: At 6:36 p.m. Sept. 29 along South Carr Road, officers responded to a threat with a weapon call. The victim stated the suspect flashed a gun and threatened to kill him following a traffic incident. The victim provided a detailed description of the vehicle and its occupants. The investigation is ongoing.

Woman shot: At about 6:30 p.m. Oct. 3 in the 300 block of Burnett Avenue South, officers responded to a shooting. Witnesses describe the suspect as a Black male in his 20s, wearing all red, top and bottom. The victim, a 57-year-old woman, had just used an ATM when the suspect attempted to steal her purse. There was a struggle, and the suspect grabbed the purse and then shot the victim. She was transported to the hospital. The suspect fled the scene. Crime determined to be first-degree robbery and first-degree assault.

Armed robbery: At 7:50 p.m. Oct. 4 near Hoquiam Avenue Northeast and Northeast Fifth Place, there was a report that officers responded to a robbery that had just occurred nearby. Two victims reported they had been robbed at gunpoint. The victims said four people in a car followed them as they were walking, and two armed suspects got out of the car and demanded their belongings. The suspects got back in the car and left. The investigation is ongoing.

Robbery similar to previous robbery: At 8:47 p.m. Oct. 4 in the 1100 block of Hoquiam Avenue Northeast, officers responded to a robbery report. The victims reported that at 7:30 p.m., they were walking along Hoquiam Avenue, when four suspects in a car followed them. Two armed suspects got out of the vehicle and demanded the victim’s belongings. The suspects then left in the car. The suspects and car descriptions are similar to those in the robbery case officers responded to at 7:50 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.

Knife robbery: At 8:11 p.m. Oct. 4 near Oakesdale Avenue Southwest and Southwest Grady Way, officers responded to an armed robbery. The victim reported that she got off a bus and when she turned right onto Southwest 16th Street, another passenger from the bus threatened her with a knife and demanded her bag. The suspect then fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
