The Renton School District is soliciting feedback from the community on its search for the next superintendent.

The Renton School Board members will give the public three opportunities to provide input on the search criteria for the next superintendent.

Mary Alice Heuschel will step down from the post mid-January to become chief of staff for Gov.-elect Jay Inslee. Vera Risdon has stepped in as the interim superintendent.

Community meetings will be held at the district’s three high schools. The first will be held 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Renton High School, 400 S. Second St. in Renton. The second will take place 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Hazen High School, 1101 Hoquiam Ave. N.E., in Renton. The last community meeting will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Jan. 10 at Lindbergh High School, 16426 128th Ave. S.E., in Renton.

If community members are not able to attend one of the meetings, input can be given through an online survey or by contacting Dennis Ray at Northwest Leadership Associates directly. The agency has been hired to assist in finding the next superintendent for the district.
