The Renton Community Foundation is accepting grant applications for the First Financial Northwest Foundation Fund.
This fund was established by the newly formed First Financial Northwest Foundation (FFNWF) established when First Savings Bank went public. The FFNWF fund will consider requests from throughout King, Pierce and Snohomish counties for grants of $10,000 and above.
FFNWF created a second fund within the Renton Community Foundation specifically to serve Renton. The second fund is an endowment named after First Savings Bank. This fund will support charities that have a Renton presence or are physically located within the Renton School District. No grants will be made from this fund until next year.
“I have had the pleasure of working with the First Financial Northwest Foundation Board of Trustees for the past several months to develop the guidelines and application forms,” says Lynn Bohart, Renton Community Foundation executive director. “This is a big deal for our community and we should all feel very proud.”
Gary Kohlwes, First Financial Northwest Foundation trustee, said the fund has the potential of making a tremendous impact on the quality of life in the greater Renton area.
Grant materials are available online at the Renton Community Foundation’s website at www.rentonfoundation.org. Completed applications must be sent to the Renton Community Foundation by June 1. For questions, call Lynn Bohart at 425-282-5199.
