Female customer disrupts Hooters, later ends up in custody | Police blotter

According to witnesses, the 26-year-old Renton woman was slightly intoxicated and began dancing around the bar. She refused to leave and went behind the counter and took off her shirt. A male friend and the woman’s mother tried to get her to leave and she assaulted both of them by punching one and throwing things at the other. Also, according to employees who witnessed it, the woman went into the kitchen area, where she used her fingers to dip into various sauces to taste.

The following information was compiled from City of Renton police reports.

A customer lost control in the Renton Hooters on May 3 and later wound up in handcuffs.

According to witnesses, the 26-year-old Renton woman was slightly intoxicated and began dancing around the bar. She refused to leave and went behind the counter and took off her shirt. A male friend and the woman’s mother tried to get her to leave and she assaulted both of them by punching one and throwing things at the other. Also, according to employees who witnessed it, the woman went into the kitchen area, where she used her fingers to dip into various sauces to taste.

When police arrived, the woman was clothed, calm and kneeling in the restaurant area with several “I Love Hooters” stickers in her hands and on her shirt. She told police that she wanted to get a job at the restaurant. At the time, police told employees at the restaurant there were no charges to press, because the woman had not assaulted or threatened any of the staff or damaged any property.

Police sent the woman home with her male friend and her mother, but they went to the R Bar, which is in the same parking lot as Hooters.

After a confrontation there with one of the people in the woman’s party, police arrested the woman for investigation of domestic violence assault.

Gunfire on Glenwood

Gun fire erupted in the 900 block of Glenwood Avenue Northeast on May 6.

A witness told police they heard yelling just before they heard the shots and also heard numerous people running from the area after the gunshots. This occurred just before midnight.

The witness told police they believed the drug activity in the immediate area is increasing. Police stopped a Dodge Magnum leaving the area and questioned its occupants. They said they didn’t have anything to do with the incident.

Police collected one .45 caliber shell casing in the alley to the east of 900 Glenwood Avenue Northeast and four additional .45 caliber shell casings in the middle of the intersection of Northeast Ninth Street and Glenwood Avenue Northeast. All of the casings were collected for evidence.

Exposure

A male exposed himself to an elderly Renton woman on May 3.

The 85-year-old woman, who lives in the 1400 block of Monroe Avenue Northeast, got up to let her dog out around 6:30 a.m.

She sat down in her living room and noticed a shadow outside her window. When she looked closer, she noticed a male fully exposing himself.

The woman described the suspect as a Hispanic man around 25-years-old, 5- foot-5 with an average build. He was apparently also wearing a stocking  cap.

The woman got angry, grabbed a broom and left her apartment to chase the man, but when she got to the place she had seen him, he was gone.

Shooting on Sunset

Police investigated a shooting in the 4000 block of Northeast Sunset Boulevard on May 7.

Police were called at about 4:40 p.m. by a witness who said he heard a single gunshot coming from the area of Goodyear Tires at 4044 N.E. Sunset Blvd. Then he told police he saw a black female approximately 20 years old place a handgun in her purse. He last saw her walk east on Northeast Sunset Boulevard.

She is described as tall, 5 feet 11 to 6 feet tall and medium build. She had braided hair that was blonde and purple in color and she was wearing gray sweat pants and a black sweater.

Fight at Cabana Club

Two women got into a fight at the Cabana Club in Renton on May 1.

The fight, which happened at 3650 East Valley Road, was over the ex-boyfriend of one of the women and occurred just before 1 a.m.

Both women were at the club when one, an 18-year-old, pulled the 20-year-old’s head toward the ground and began hitting her with a closed fist. The 20-year-old woman began to punch back fearing for her safety and a few seconds later, a security guard came and broke up the fight.

Both women stated that the other started the fight.

Daughter assaulted

A mother assaulted her pregnant daughter and was arrested on May 2.

The fight occurred before 8:30 p.m. in the 18800 block of 120th Avenue Southeast. The 52-year-old mother and her 35-year-old daughter were arguing over the mother’s excessive drinking habits. The mother had been living with her daughter for several months and they had many arguments around this subject. On this occasion, the mother grabbed the daughter around the neck and pushed her down. The daughter is eight months pregnant. The daughter managed to push her mother off of her and call police. The mother then fled, but later returned to the residence where she was arrested for investigation of fourth degree assault.
