DUI crash | Renton police blotter

Man trespassing by train tracks: At 1:12 a.m. Sept. 22 in the 400 block of Houser Way South, an officer was conducting a foot patrol when the officer noticed a subject sitting in the gravel area on the south side of the tracks. The officer contacted the subject and advised him that he was previously trespassed from BNSF property and needed to leave. A citation was authorized for second-degree criminal trespass and forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

Sexual assault report: At 9:13 a.m. Sept. 25 in the 17000 block of 108th Avenue South, an officer was dispatched to a sex offense report. Dispatch noted that the victim had dementia and the assault did not occur, but still wanted to report the incident. The victim reported that two men entered her room overnight and assaulted her. She also mentioned she may have dreamed it. The report was taken, and a case number was issued.

Alleged drunk driving: At 11:54 a.m. Sept. 27 in the 800 block of Grady Way South, an officer noticed a couple of vehicles in the parking lot of a closed business. When the officer approached the group, the cars began leaving. One of the vehicles began swerving in and out of lanes, and the officer pulled the driver over. When the officer contacted the driver, she showed signs of impairment. The driver refused to conduct a field sobriety test and was taken into custody for investigation of driving under the influence. She was booked into jail for driving with a suspended license and DUI.

DUI crash: At 1:25 p.m. Sept. 27 at the intersection of South 180th Street and East Valley Road, officers were dispatched for a collision. Dispatch advised that several callers believed one of the drivers was under the influence. Upon arrival, officers located the causing driver slumped over. When the driver exited the vehicle, he displayed multiple signs of impairment. The officer determined the driver was too intoxicated to safely perform a field sobriety test. The suspect was transported to Valley Medical Center for medical clearance and was booked into jail for DUI.

Car break-in: At 9:08 p.m. Sept. 27 in the 1100 block of Bronson Way North, an officer took a theft report over the phone. The victim informed the officer that he had parked his vehicle in the parking lot at 7 p.m., then returned to his car around 8:30 p.m. to find that his belongings were missing from the vehicle. If a suspect is located, there is probable cause for second-degree theft.
