The pre-order deadline for the 2016 King Conservation District’s Native Plant Sale is Monday, Feb. 22.
Select from more than 50 species of native trees, shrubs and ground-cover plants for wildlife habitat, hedgerows, stream enhancement, and home landscapes. New species in this year’s sale include Bleeding Heart, Camas, Maidenhair Fern, Red Columbine, and Piggyback Plant. There are also have Rain Barrels for water conservation.
KCD ordered nearly 50,000 native plants for this year’s sale and some species are running out. There will be an additional 10,000 plants available for walk-up sales on March 5.
HOW TO ORDER: Order and pay for your plants by credit card online at www.kingcd.org. The minimum order is $30. All orders must be pre-paid. Purchase orders are acceptable for public agencies, businesses and nonprofit organizations.
The deadline for ordering is midnight on Feb. 22. The pick-up is scheduled for 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. March 5 at King Conservation District, 1107 S.W. Grady Way, Renton. (No plant delivery available.)
Quantities are limited. All plants are sold on a first-come, first served basis.

CONIFEROUS TREES: Douglas Fir, Grand Fir, Noble Fir, Shore Pine, Sitka Spruce, Hemlock, Western Red Cedar.
DECIDUOUS TREES: Black Hawthorn, Cascara, Oregon Ash, Oregon White Oak, Pacific Crabapple, Vine Maple, Western Flowering Dogwood.
SHRUBS: Black Twinberry, Blue Elderberry, Red Elderberry, Indian Plum, Mock Orange, Nootka Rose, Pacific Ninebark, Pacific Rhododendron, Red Flowering Current, Red Osier Dogwood, Serviceberry, Scouler’s Willow, Sitka Willow, Tall Oregon Grape.
GROUNDCOVERS: Bleeding Heart, Coastal Strawberry, Common Camas, Deer Fern, Kinnikinnick, Maidenhair Fern, Piggyback Plant, Red Columbine, Salal, Sword Fern.
