The second evening meeting of the Metropolitan King County Council’s Budget and Fiscal Management Committee on the County Executive’s proposed 2012 King County Budget is Wednesday (Oct. 19) in Kent.

Hosted by King County Council member  Julia Patterson, chair of the council’s Budget and Fiscal Management Committee, the meeting is at 6:30 p.m. in the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent, Courtroom F, 401 Fourth Ave. N., Kent. The public can comment on the budget proposal.

Live streaming of the meeting will be available on the County Council Budget Web site.

King County Executive Dow Constantine presented his proposed $5.3 billion budget to the County Council on Sept. 26. Over the last two weeks, the Budget Committee has reviewed the proposal, which contains no cuts to the $648 million General Fund budget, more than three-quarters of which is targeted for law, justice and public safety services.

Constantine is proposing budget cuts in the Roads Division which would limit the amount of snow removal and road maintenance road crews would do on many roads in unincorporated King County, including West Hill.
