BLOTTER: Witness vows to testify even after threats

The following information was compiled from the City of Renton police department reports.

A 75-year-old woman scheduled to testify in court was threatened with the burning of her home and destruction of her car on the 300 block of Union Avenue Southeast Nov. 10.

The woman was sleeping in her home when a male pounded on her front door and shouted the threats. She heard him run away and a vehicle drive off but didn’t see him.

She was supposed to testify in a sexual assault case that day and told police she was still determined to do so.

Drunken driver twice urinates himself

A drunken driver was too intoxicated to take sobriety tests and urinated on himself twice, Nov. 3.

Police saw the Seattle man making illegal turns and lane changes at the intersection of Talbot Road South and South Seventh Street.

When police asked if he was drinking, “He said ‘a little’ and used his fingers to show me a little size, which was about a speck,” according to the report.

When an officer asked for the man’s license, he struggled to pull his wallet from his pocket or identify his driver’s license, even with help from a passenger.

When police asked the 62-year-old man to step out of his car for a sobriety test, he was unable to walk to the police vehicle without falling over.

When an officer asked him to sit on the police car bumper multiple times, the man bent his knees to see where police were pointing.

The man was arrested, but was too drunk to cooperate fully. As the officer read the implied consent warning for sobriety test, the man fell asleep with one eye open and then urinated on himself.

The man didn’t ask for a restroom.

He was too intoxicated to be booked in jail and was transferred to Valley Medical Center for detoxification.

The man refused treatment and refused to leave the lobby, where he again urinated. An officer told the VMC staff that there wasn’t a police hold on the man.

Brothers fight; fish tank broke

At one point one brother threatened the other with a fire log.

A girl heard the fight upstairs and broke it up on the 1000 block of Newport Court Northeast.

Renton officers arrested one brother for fourth-degree assault by punching the other in the face and squeezing his neck causing bruising and pain.

Car prowl

A black leather bag with a man’s personal and work information was taken from his car after it was prowled, Nov. 10.

The victim was only at the Keg restaurant at 3750 East Valley Rd. for an hour, and his doors were locked.

The man at first didn’t notice anything missing and cleaned up his rummaged car, contaminating the evidence.

The window of a 2000 Ford Mustang was smashed after being parked on Union Avenue Northeast, facing south, Nov. 12.

Nothing appeared missing. There are no suspects.

Car stolen

A 1995 Honda Civic was stolen from the 17300 block of 121st Lane Southeast Nov. 11.

The car didn’t have an alarm or tracking device, and the driver had the only set of keys.
