BLOTTER: Man eludes police, drives wrong way on 405, then hides in blackberry bushes

The following information was compiled from City of Renton police reports:

A man tried to hide in a thicket of blackberry bushes after eluding police Jan. 28.

He had parked his car in the wrong direction on an I-405 off ramp next to where he was hiding, and police found him using a K-9 unit.

The man first tried to elude police by driving in the wrong direction on the freeway. Afraid the man was going to have a head-on collision with another vehicle, the officer stopped his pursuit.

When the man said, “Well, then, you just know everything then, don’t you,” to the arresting officer, the officer responded, “No, I have no idea what could be so worth it that you almost kill people to get away from me.”

The man had several warrants to his name.

The boy ran to a nearby coffee shop.

He hadn’t been to her house, and she referred to him by the wrong name, he told police.

A friend described the woman as mentally ill and not taking her prescribed medications.

Because of her unmanageable behavior, officers at the Renton jail decided to book her in the King County Jail.
