RUFF is following up its successful Wags ‘n Wines fundraiser with Barks & Beers! at the Dog & Pony Alehouse & Grill June 13 from 5 p.m.-9 p.m.

Advance tickets are $30 and must be purchased at the Dog & Pony. A limited number of tickets may be available at the door for $35.

Tickets include two glasses of dog-themed beers and the choice of a gourmet hamburger, hot dog or veggie burger, served with side dishes.

RUFFIe prizes will be drawn throughout the evening, including the grand prize, tickets for two on the Victoria Clipper, plus a whale-watching trip.

Extra parking is available at the Salon School, half a block from the Dog & Pony.

All proceeds will benefit the construction of Renton’s new off-leash dog park, scheduled to break ground in June.

Renton City Council included $50,000 for the dog park in this year’s budget. But the nonprofit RUFF, which stands for Renton’s Unleashed Furry Friends, must raise $20,000 to pay for the park’s construction.

Renton’s dog park will be built on a five acre city-owned field next to the Cedar River trail, site of the former NARCO brick plant.

The city created a Dog Park Task Force last spring after years of dog-park requests.
