ATM assault and robbery | Renton police blotter

From the Renton police log.

Drive-by shooting: At 2:52 a.m. July 2 in the 600 block of Redmond Ave. NE., officers were dispatched to a reported non-injury drive-by. Upon arrival, officers interviewed a resident whose window was broken. A bullet fragment was recovered inside the residence. The suspect fled the scene and was not located. The investigation is ongoing. If the suspects can be identified, there is probable cause for first-degree assault.

Armed robbery: At 1:07 p.m. July 2 in the 12000 block of SE Petrovitsky Road, officers were dispatched to an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim. The victim stated a male suspect pointed a firearm at him, then fought him for his chain necklace. The suspect then fled on foot, entered a vehicle and left the area. If the suspect is identified, there is probable cause for first-degree robbery.

Public drug use: At 7:07 p.m. July 2 in the 1100 block of Bronson Way N., an officer on patrol witnessed a subject using narcotics in public. The officer contacted the subject and placed him under arrest. During a search, drug paraphernalia was recovered, and he was booked into jail.

ATM assault and robbery: At 1:23 a.m. July 3 in the 1600 block of Duvall Avenue NE, there was a report that officers responded to a robbery with a firearm. The victims stated they were using the drive-through ATM when the suspect approached them with a firearm and demanded money. The suspect then struck one of the victims, and the victim surrendered money to the suspect. The suspect fled on foot. An area check was conducted, and the suspect was not located. The investigation is ongoing.

Driving under the influence: At 9:32 p.m. July 4 in the 700 block of N. 10th Street, officers were dispatched to a parking lot for a possible DUI suspect. Officers contacted the suspect, who showed signs of impairment. She was taken into custody and booked for DUI.
