Council candidate Beth Asher sent out the following press release late Friday afternoon:
I first want to thank everyone who turned out and voted in the recent election. Your vote is your voice, and I sincerely thank all of our Renton voters for their participation. We should never forget that we are the government, and voting is the way we make ourselves heard. Now we’ll work together to move our community forward.
The city council campaign has been an interesting experience and no one could undertake something like this without a lot of support. For all those who gave generously of their time to help me I would like to say thank you – I couldn’t have come this far without you. I’d like to particularly thank my husband and family, who put up with my absences over many evenings and weekends. And for all those who contributed in other ways to my campaign – you have my profound respect and thanks for your willingness to engage and be involved in our local government. Over the past months I’ve developed new relationships and deepened existing relationships that will enable me to do more as I continue to work on Renton’s opportunities. Yes – I’ll keep right on working for Renton, and regionally, in my volunteer roles and with my advocacy for our community.
Congratulations to Terri – whatever our differences we are fellow Renton residents who want the best for our city.
Sincerely,
Beth Asher
