Art and Antique Walk downtown is today

The third annual Art and Antique Walk, sponsored by Arts Unlimited, is 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today (Saturday) in downtown Renton.

The third annual Art and Antique Walk, sponsored by Arts Unlimited, is 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today (Saturday) in downtown Renton.

The event will feature live music, dance performances and a plein air art contest added to the mix of artists appearing indoors and outdoors at 41 local businesses.

Financial sponsors of this event are Allied Arts of Renton, Blossom Asian Bistro, Merrill Gardens at Renton Center, Renton Magazine, Renton Municipal Arts Commission, Renton Printery and Renton Reporter.

Directing the Art Walk is Jennifer Davis Hayes, Renton Community Development project manager. She encourages visitors to wander the main streets of Renton, enjoying the displays of fine art and plan to stay for lunch or dinner. A map showing the location of artists will be available at their booth in the Piazza on Third and Burnett.

The walk will feature a number of Renton artists. They are:

Susan Mooring, paper cutouts; Kazumi Kochu, acrylics; Laura Scheuffele, watercolor/pen and ink; Lisa Smith, acrylic; Lisa Rasmussen; Daniel Frederiksen, wood, silver; David Hatch, acrylic on canvas; Orenda Ayashe, mixed media; Richard Fisher, photography; Don Elkins, charcoal; Doug Kyes; Jessica Eith, graphic; Justin Schmause, photography, and Karla Matista.
