A top administrator in Renton School District to lead Kelso schools

Rob MacGregor, Renton School District superintendent for learning and teaching, has been selected as the new superintendent for the Kelso School District, replacing retiring Superintendent Glenys Hill.

MacGregor was selected from a field of 23 applicants and was unanimously selected for the job by Kelso school board members, according to a press release.

“Serving the teachers, students and community has been extremely rewarding both professionally and personally,” said MacGregor. “I’ve learned so much by serving in Renton, and I’m extremely proud of the advances that have been made in student achievement.

MacGregor has worked with the Renton School District since 2008. He served as an assistant superintendent with the state Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction from 2001 to 2006.

His new job starts July 1.
