According to the department, one victim stated to officers that three subjects approached him as he waited, while parked, for a food order.

Threatened with a gun

Renton police responded to a hang-up call on Feb. 5 in the 1300 block of Southwest 16th Street. According to the department, the call receiver heard a man and woman arguing prior to the hanging-up of the call. The woman called 911 a second time, with the call receiver hearing mention of a gun in the second call. According to the department, officers arrived at the scene to three individuals and a security officer in a parking lot.

The victim reported the suspect ordered her out of the vehicle as he reached underneath the seat. The victim said the suspect held a gun and aimed it at her ribcage. The security officer said he heard a loud argument and the passenger announcing the presence of a gun as he approached the vehicle to ask the two to leave. The department forwarded a charge of assault in the first degree against the suspect to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Carjacking with a knife

Renton police responded on Feb. 12 to a carjacking in-progress in the 800 block of Harrington Avenue Northeast. According to the department, the victim stated a man approached him after he parked his vehicle as he walked home, armed with a kitchen knife. The man with the knife fought with the victim for the vehicle keys, stealing the keys and driving away with the victim’s vehicle. The victim suffered a cut to his hand as a result of the fight.

Carjacking suspects

Renton police responded on Feb. 5 at approximately 8:19 p.m. to a carjacking in-progress in the 3800 block of Northeast 4th Street. According to the department, the victim stated to officers that three subjects approached him as he waited, while parked, for a food order. The subjects demanded his keys, wallet and phone, according to the victim. Two of the suspects wielded guns and left in the victim’s vehicle, with the third suspect driving away in the vehicle they arrived in. The victim suffered no injuries in the incident.

Carjacking at gunpoint

Renton police responded on Feb. 4 at 2:46 a.m. to a carjacking at gunpoint in the 2100 block of Lake Washington Boulevard. According to the department, the victim stated two men, both with handguns, ordered him out of his vehicle after the victim pulled into a parking lot. The men stole the victim’s phone and wallet prior to one suspect fleeing in the victim’s vehicle, and the second fleeing in the vehicle the suspects arrived in.
