Five hundred gallons of gas. That’s what Karen Zammit of Renton won Wednesday morning.

“I won like, crazy gas today,” she said. “It’s a fabulous, fabulous thing.”

Zammit was one of 10 first prize winners in the “500 Gallon Gas Giveaway” sponsored by Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center, which is part of the Ford Motor Company.

Zammit was presented with the American Express “Fill it Up” gas card, valued at $1,905, at the Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center in Renton.

“We could not be happier for Karen,” said Gary DeJarlais, service director for Sound Ford and Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center.

The national sweepstakes was launched in October to commemorate the opening of the 500th Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center store. Winners were randomly selected in December.

Zammit doesn’t usually enter contests. But she’s glad she entered this one. She commutes almost 15 miles each way to Bellevue, where she works for a staffing agency.

Her car is a gas-guzzling 10-year-old Oldsmobile Bravada SUV.

“So it was right on time,” Zammit says. “It’s a happy, happy day.”
