15 RTC computer students pass exam

Fifteen students in the computer network technology program at Renton Technical College (RTC) recently took CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association) exams.

Fifteen students in the computer network technology program at Renton Technical College (RTC) recently took CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association) exams.

All 15 passed the exams. Nine students passed the A+ exam; three students passed the Network+ exam; two students passed the Server+ exam; and one student passed the Linux+ exam.

RTC created the computer network technology program 10 years ago to fill the ongoing demand for well-trained entry-level computer network technicians and administrators.

The one-year program includes 1,260 hours of hands-on and academic training. The program is a member of CompTIA, Microsoft IT Academy Program and Redhat (Linux) Academy.

The following RTC students passed CompTIA exams:

Luke Brehm, James Bryson, Melissa Bumpus, Oscar Cauich, Ken Chen, Steven Harney, Rajneel Maharaj, Danny Martin, Ryan Mithoug, Hakiza Mujyambere, Kiet Pham, Nhut Pham, David Sanchez, Sam Yates, Manuel Yost.

• Tuan H. Phan of Renton was recently named an All-American Scholar by The United States Achievement Academy. Phan, who goes to Renton High School, will appear in the All-American Scholar Yearbook, which is published nationally.

The Academy selects All-American Scholars on the recommendation of teachers, coaches, counselors and other qualified sponsors.

Phan is the son of Ho Phan and Huong Huynh.

• Lindbergh High School student Patrice Bruner was recently selected to join the National Honor Society.

Acceptance into the society is by invitation only. Applications are judged on grades, community service and leadership skills.
