Guardian Roofing’s Halo Project accepts nominations for local homeowners in dire need of a major roof repair or replacement.

Over the top in community giving

Like most things, the roof over your head needs maintenance to keep working at peak performance.

Guardian Roofing not only installs new roofing and new roof replacements, the company sets itself apart by offering curative services for each stage of your roof’s lifecycle.

In the Pacific Northwest, roofs are at the mercy of severe storms and moist conditions. Wind damage and moss growth are common. Thankfully, Guardian Roofing’s cleaning and maintenance agenda can add years of serviceability to the roof currently protecting your home.

The Halo Project

With 15 years in business, Guardian owners Matt and Lori Swanson owe their success to loyal customers and an amazing team of employees. And though they often partner with others in community giving, the potential to do something truly unique tugged at their heart strings. Thus the Halo Project was born.

“We really wanted to thank the community for their support,” says Guardian spokeswoman Morgan Roth. “If we didn’t have loyal customers who trust us, we wouldn’t be here.”

With fall approaching, the Guardian Home Services team looks forward to this new initiative that’s making an over-the-top difference in people’s lives. In November 2018, the Swansons set out to find recipients. The target? Deserving homeowners in need of critical roof repair or replacement.

Cindy Lu and Pat Vaughn in Federal Way were the first recipients of a new roof. Cindy Lu, known locally as ‘the neighborhood grandmother,’ received more than 30 nominations. In May 2019, The Halo Project team showed up with community members and they went to work. The Vaughns and the many friends who supported them were elated.

Nominations begin in November and the selection process is in February. Work begins late spring to early summer when weather conditions are favorable.

The most recent recipients of the Guardian Halo Project include Andrea Bachofer, a single mother, and Jessica Allen, widow of a former roofer. Both projects have been successfully completed and the families are enjoying their brand new roofs!

The Halo Project allows other venders the opportunity to give back as well. Having support from the building community has made a vast difference in the way Guardian Roofing helps folks in need. At this time, the Swansons wish to honor their staff and affiliates for donations of time, materials and expertise to the Halo Project, including GAF, Owens Corning, DTG Recycling and High-Point Gutters.

To qualify as a recipient of The Halo Project you must:

  • Be nominated by yourself or a member of your community.
  • Be a homeowner in need of a major roof repair or roof replacement.
  • Live in the Pacific Northwest.

Otherwise, the gifting of a new roof is as easy as pointing out someone in need. No strings attached.

If you know of a homeowner in desperate need of either a major roof repair or a roof replacement but cannot afford to fix it on their own, consider nominating them for the Halo Project, which will reopened in the Fall of 2020.
