Best Testosterone Booster Pills: Top Men’s Testo Supplements

Like women, men have an array of different potential hormone levels. Lower testosterone is becoming more common and can affect an array of bodily functions for men including fat burning, muscle building, sex drive, and energy levels. While some men are naturally lower or have a decrease with age, others are artificially affected by lifestyle or even dieting.

The market today offers many testosterone boosting supplements claiming to boost your levels without the negative effects of a prescribed anabolic steroid or costly TRT (testosterone replacement therapy), the go-to doctor prescribed choices to boost testosterone production.

Recently, studies have shown low testosterone levels are associated with poor physical, emotional, and social health- all things that can affect your mental health greatly. While in days past, this was considered a common side effect of aging, we now know we can improve quality of life while men go through the different stages of aging instead of constantly battling every negative in their minds.

But do these testosterone supplements live up to the hype? And which are the best boosters available in 2021? We have done the work for you with this compiled list.

Top 11 Testosterone Supplements of 2021

First, let’s dive into the list. Be sure to stay tuned for the science, the qualifications, and any extra information which will follow.

Testogen’s makers claim their supplement targets overall male performance and all the things that commonly worry men with Low T: sex drive, energy, and muscle. It has a combination of fenugreek, zinc, D-aspartic acid, and other vitamins/minerals to target this issue. While some men want to grow lean muscle or lose weight, others take this specifically for sex drive.

Prime Male

As one of the “fancier” supplements, Prime Male actually has a proven-to-work ingredients list. Being better means a higher price tag but they claim it can boost your testosterone as much as 42% in two weeks. Each of its active ingredients has a higher dose than most other supplements with the promise of boosting your sex drive, increasing energy, and improving lean muscle mass. They even have Dolph Lundgren as a celebrity endorsement.

Testo Prime

Testo Prime supplement has the strongest doses of its active ingredients on this list: 8,000 mg of Panax ginseng, 2,000 mg of D-aspartic acid, 800 mg of fenugreek, and 668 mg of ashwagandha extract. These high doses are even stronger than scoops of protein powder and are sure to boost weight loss, increase lean muscle production, and support your testosterone.

TestoFuel is advertised as an anabolic support complex which suggests it targets your natural anabolism production. The makers claim to use these “natural ingredients”: vitamin D, oyster extract, and D-aspartic acid. There are four capsules per serving and it’s meant to increase the negative side effects of Low T- sex drive, fat burning, lean muscle, and virility.

TestoLab Pro

image 9

In each TestoLab Pro supplement bottle, there are 120 capsules meant to boost and sustain testosterone circulating throughout the body with the knowledge that testosterone is only useful to prevent Low T when in the bloodstream. It specifically targets increasing “free testosterone,” or the blood circulating kind. The makers claim effective ingredients to support your stress response, lean muscle building, sex drive, and even bone strength (another negative aspect of aging).

Hunter Test

Hunter Test contains vitamins and minerals crucial for testosterone production in the body: vitamin D, vitamin K, ginseng, ashwagandha, zinc D-aspartic acid, and other natural ingredients. The makers claim this mixture can work better at testosterone boosting for that reason, and it doesn’t hurt that the package is quite nice.

Zenith Labs’ Barbarian XL

image 11

Zenith Labs Barbarian XL is a popular testosterone-boosting supplement and one of the few backed by an actual doctor. The Chief Medical Officer for Zenith Labs, Dr. Ryan, used their naturopathy experience to create this formula. Barbarian XL could be targeting different pathways because it has unique ingredients compared to others on this list. It contains shilajit, Boswellia resin extract, ashwagandha, ginseng, and other natural ingredients typically used in Asian medicines.

JayLab Pro T20

image 3

JayLab Pro T20 claims just 2 capsules a day of their supplement is all you need to support your testosterone. Unlike other supplements, it also contains L-norvaline and Avena sativa which are meant to target effective blood flow. Because it may support blood flow, it means the free Testosterone would more effectively travel around the body. This supplement is the least expensive on the list and has plain packaging as a result, but don’t let that fool you.

CrazyBulk Testo-Max

CrazyBulk is a body-building supplement company that branched out into Testosterone boosting with Testo-Max. Advertised as a strength and energy supplement, it addresses bodybuilding concerns from a Low T angle. It was made with vitamin D3, magnesium, Korean red ginseng, D-aspartic acid, nettle leaf extract, fenugreek, and other vitamins/minerals.nutrients associated with popular testosterone-producing methods.

TestRX markets itself as a “natural” testosterone boosting supplement that uses vitamin B6, vitamin D, and other vitamins and minerals vital to peak male sexual health. It’s important to note this particular supplement is primarily advertised to men who wish to put on significant lean muscle, tone and burn fat. But it can also be considered good for sexual health as a libido booster.

PhytAge Labs Testo 911

image 4

PhytAge Labs is known for an array of supplements and Testo 911 is the latest meant to target testosterone production. With a lighter amount of ingredients like zinc, Rhodiola Rosea, DIM, and magnesium, the company claims to “naturally” boost your levels. But it also targets blood flow, inflammation, and metabolism. As an irrelevant and amusing bonus- they have unusual marketing campaigns and dramatic videos that should definitely be checked out.

How We Rank The Top Testosterone Supplements

Few testosterone boosting supplements actually live up to their claims so we chose this list on the following basis:

  • Ingredients- Are they backed by scientific evidence? Do they replicate anabolic steroids in a natural way?
  • Dosing- Do they use a strong enough dose to benefit?
  • Transparency- Are their ads transparent or are they flashy and meant to engage the male gaze?
  • Safety- Do they have hidden ingredients or stimulants that may be a safety issue for consumers?
  • Good Reputation- Need we say more?
  • Value- Are you getting bang for your buck?

These parameters more than anything else helped us create this best of 2021 list.

Why Take Testosterone Boosters and Are There Side Effects?

Generally, these supplements are taken for one of two reasons: to handle symptoms of Low T or to build muscle better.

To reiterate, symptoms of Low T include low energy levels, low concentration, higher fat, harder to build lean muscle, change in emotions, and low libido. Only a doctor via a blood test can tell you for sure if you have it but we all know when we feel these kinds of changes.

The best thing about a testosterone supplement is the lack of side effects you see in more formal, prescribed treatments. Generally speaking, it’s unlikely you will experience any side effects at all as long as it is taken as directed and you are not doubling up on the dosing of any of the vitamins or minerals by also taking it in high doses from other vitamins.

However, this is why we mentioned not wanting testosterone boosting supplements on this list with hidden stimulants added to it because those can have negative side effects. If you’re using well-rated supplements from a well-reputed company, you are unlikely to fall into this trap.

But this isn’t the solution with no working method. You still need to get sunlight, eat decently well, and exercise regularly- particularly if you’re trying to build muscle.

The Science Behind Testosterone Boosters

Because supplements are not FDA regulated, most formulas are simply not backed by substantial research. That being said, there are plenty of clinical trials that support the positive effects of ingredients found in supplement mixtures.

For example:

This study on Zinc shows men who lack in it have a much lower testosterone level than men that don’t lack Zinc. For this reason, many testosterone-boosting supplements contain zinc.

In this study, zinc was given to men with Low T and their testosterone levels rose.

And in this study, wrestlers were given zinc over a period of 4 weeks while training, and their testosterone increased significantly more than the placebo group despite intense training often lowering testosterone.

Vitamin D was shown to raise testosterone levels by 20% compared to the placebo group according to researchers in this study. Proper Vitamin D has frequently been linked to a plethora of health benefits including muscle recovery and preventing depression.

DAA, or D-aspartic acid, was shown to increase the production of testosterone in this study by specifically targeting luteinizing hormone or LH.

Not all research has supported DAA being beneficial to testosterone levels but this 2009 study showed DAA raising testosterone levels in animals in 12 days.

And this separate study found DAA doubled sperm count while raising testosterone in the male participants after 90 days.

Boron deficiency has been linked to Low T and this study showed that men given 6 mg boron a day for 60 days raised their testosterone by 29.5%.

In this study, researchers found a 16% increase in testosterone in men after 90 days of supplementation with Tribulus Terrestris, while this study showed men with already high levels were unaffected. It also appears to have positively affected erectile dysfunction.

This study on adaptogens like Ashwagandha found that a daily dose of 5,000 mg produced a 22% increase in testosterone levels after just 3 months and a higher sperm count. As a bonus, it may also help you relax.

A recent study on fenugreek found that men who were given 500 mg a day had higher levels of both free and overall testosterone.

While we obviously need significantly more research on supplement formulas, we at least have studies showing us the effective benefits of the ingredients.

Popular Testosterone Booster Inquiries

How to know if you have low testosterone- again, the only way to know for sure is to be tested by a medical professional. Signs of Low T include poor energy, endurance problems, mental fog, low sex drive, weight gain, childbearing difficulty, erectile dysfunction, and more. If you’re experiencing any of these, it’s time to call your doctor.

  • Testosterone and age- testosterone peaks for men in late teen years through the early 30s. At around age 40, you produce less and less each year. It’s colloquially known as andropause of male menopause.
  • Relationship to erections- a boost in testosterone can help with libido and erections, most notably by increasing blood flow in erectile chambers. Low T makes it difficult to get and maintain a full erection.
  • Other health problems- Low T is not just a health problem on its own, it can also be secondary to another health problem. For example, obesity is linked to Low T but also Low T can increase weight gain. It’s also connected to diabetes.

Should I see hormone replacement therapy or TRT? This is something to research and discuss with your doctor. We are not medical professionals and they will know better what is the right option for you. If your problems are significant, they may not want you to try supplementation to attempt to increase testosterone levels more naturally.

Top 11 Testosterone Supplements of 2021 Wrap Up

Testosterone supplements tend to all advertise the same benefits because they are all tackling a problem that has the same negative side effects. This list is just a suggestion based on decent parameters of how to choose any supplement.

While Low T is technically a natural part of aging, it doesn’t mean we want to experience the negative side effects of it. Especially weight gain is this reduces your lifespan and is likely to increase other health problems down the line. And of course, sex drive is a driving factor in our quality of life and relationships for the average person.

There are ways to boost testosterone levels without supplemental help, for example getting enough sun, not using starvation diets, or reducing stress. But combatting the decrease in testosterone over time often takes more than just a healthy lifestyle. It’s just that an unhealthy one increases the problems. Adding a testosterone-boosting supplement to your daily regime as we age is just another tool to improve our quality of life long term, particularly based on the evidence we have of their ingredients.

Theoretically, the best in testosterone supplements should work with your endocrine system by delivering concentrated doses of very specific ingredients meant to help the body naturally produce more testosterone while avoiding unnecessary fillers and especially side effects causing stimulants.

It’s important to remember that your doctor is a necessary part of maintaining health and we are not medical professionals by any stretch of the imagination, but this list is a pretty decent representation of the peak in testosterone boosting supplementation for the year 2021.
