The Renton American Legion Fred Hancock Post 19 Business Meeting: The Renton American Legion Fred Hancock Post 19 meets the second Tuesday of every month, except July and August, at 7 p.m. at the Post Hall, 3224 NE 12th Street, in the Renton Highlands, under the water tower. All veterans welcome. Most vets eligible for membership. America’s premier patriotic veterans organization and the prime driver of the original G.I. Bill, the Legion focuses on service to veterans and has influenced considerable social change in America, won hundreds of benefits for veterans, and produced many important programs for the community, children and youth.

10th annual Renton Career Fair at Renton Technical College: From 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, this career fair will bring together students, alumni, and community members to meet 60+ employers from a variety of industries, including business, childcare, construction, healthcare, manufacturing, and transportation. Wednesday’s fair will be for all industries except healthcare, while Thursday is exclusively reserved for the healthcare industry. City of Renton and Cascade Bicycle Club present Bike Everywhere Day at Cedar River Trail: From 6 to 10 a.m., this event will begin at Logan Avenue North, look for the pop-up tent at the south end of the Renton Memorial Stadium parking lot. For more information, visit cascade.org.

Café Vets: Monthly gathering of veterans and guests for coffee and refreshments hosted by Renton American Legion Post 19 and Auxiliary Unit 19 on the third Thursday of every month (except December) from 10 a.m. to noon. Come for coffee, camaraderie and goodies. Legion membership is not a requirement, though most veterans are eligible for membership. Post Service Officer will be on hand, in case someone needs assistance with a VA claim. No agenda, just veterans getting together with other veterans and their friends. Post Hall is in the Renton Highlands, under the water tower (3224 Northeast 12th Street).

Metal and foam collection at Renton Technical College: Going from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the city’s special recycling event returns where they will accept scrap metal, large appliances and foam packing materials. Arts and Crafts items can also be donated. For a full list of what can and cannot be recycled, visit rentonwa.gov/events. Located at 3000 Northeast 4th Street.
Safety Fest at Renton Community Center: The city is throwing its very first Safety Fest from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with over 20 booths and stations that are dedicated to community safety and well-being, like Renton Fire Authority, King County Public Health, American Red Cross, Renton Police and more. There will be safety demonstrations, classes and participants can enter giveaways that include bike helmets, life jackets, first aid kits, and more. Don’t forget to check out the “Bike Rodeo” and several food trucks. This is a free event but registration is required at rentonwa.gov/register. Located at 1715 Maple Valley Highway.
2025 Pet Adoption Event at Eastside Veterinary Associates: The Renton Police Department Animal Control division is teaming up with Eastside Veterinary to provide adoptable dogs and cats from 1 to 4 p.m. All pets are fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered and microchipped, with 50% of adoption fees ($50 for dogs, $25 for cats). Renton LGBTQ+ Youth Group at Renton Library: This free support group with Lambert House is open to youth ages 11 to 22 who identify as LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer, plus other identities like non-binary, gender non-conforming, etc.) and for youth who may be questioning or exploring their gender or sexual identities. This event is from 3-4:30 p.m and is a recurring event every third Saturday of the month. To register, email kcgroups@lamberthouse.com. Ages 12 and younger require parent/guardian permission. Project Be Free presents Family Resource Night at VFW Post 1263: From 3-7 p.m., get connected with nonprofits and organizations throughout Renton and South King County that provide counseling, legal support, support groups, youth mentorship and more. Saturdays
Renton Parkrun at Cedar River Trail: This weekly 5K community event takes place every Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Cedar River Trail trailhead by the I-405 overpass. This free event does require registration but is meant to be a fun event where walkers, joggers, runners, volunteers and spectators can come together.
