Café Vets:Monthly gathering of veterans and guests for coffee and refreshments hosted by Renton American Legion Post 19 and Auxiliary Unit 19 on the third Thursday of every month (except December) from 10 a.m. to noon. Come for coffee and camaraderie and goodies. Legion membership is not a requirement, though most veterans are eligible for membership. Post Service Officer will be on hand, in case someone needs assistance with a VA claim. No agenda, just veterans getting together with other veterans and their friends. Post Hall is in the Renton Highlands, under the water tower (3224 NE 12th St.).

Music Sings, Music Dances! at IKEA Performing Arts Center: From 2-4 p.m., the Renton City Concert Band will perform their spring concert. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for students and 50+ seniors. Tuesday, March 21

2023 State of the City Address at IKEA Performing Arts Center: Beginning at 6 p.m., Mayor Armondo Pavone will do Renton’s first State of the City address in three years. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. and free tickets can be reserved at Eventbrite.com. Reception will run from 5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. and the address will be an hour long.

Saturday, April 1

Renton Downtown Spring Clean at Renton Chamber of Commerce: From 9 to 11 a.m., join the Renton Downtown Partnership and help pick up litter and make downtown beautiful. All cleaning supplies like gloves, vests, trash bags and grabbers will be provided, as well as access to bathrooms and water. Volunteers will be emailed check-in information and can check-in at 8:50 a.m. the day of the clean-up. Dragon Pub Crawl at Renton Downtown: In celebration of Erasmus the Dragon’s Hatching Month, Renton Downtown is putting on the Dragon Pub Crawl from 1 to 4 p.m. Tickets start at $20, but will increase to $25 on March 1, so get them while they’re as hot as dragon fire. Tickets include a commemorative cup and a sip from a variety of Downtown establishments. Tickets are available at rentondowntownpartnership.square.site

Saturday, April 15

Renton Police Shred-A-Thon and Rx Drug Take Back at Renton Memorial Stadium:

From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (or until the trucks are full), this is a great, free opportunity to properly shred sensitive documents and get rid of unused or expired medications, as well as donate to a food drive. Dragon Dash 5K/10K Fun Run and Walk at Renton Downtown:

An invigorating way to celebrate Renton’s rooftop dragon, Erasmus’ birthday, this event will begin at 10 a.m. and will include medieval knights, a sword in the stone and a dragon egg hunt for kids. Registration is $28 for the 5K and $38 for 10K. For more information, visit RentonWa.gov/dragonregister.
