The fourth webisode of ‘Finger of God’ in Renton premieres

The premiere party for the fourth “Finger of God” webisode was packed, with standing room only at the soon-to-open Liberty Cafe on South Third Street.

The fourth webisode showed “Finger of God” characters Sam and Bob preparing for that party, which Sam called “The Oscars of Renton.” The short film featured a Renton recreation of a “Rocky” montage in which Sam jogged through downtown Renton and sweated out push-ups atop the log display outside Renton History Museum.

The real life Sam and Bob — Sam Graydon and Bob Anderson — burst into Liberty Cafe at the end of the webisode, still in character.

“Are you guys watching a movie?” Bob asked the crowd.

Webisodes one through four played at the party. Guests stayed after the screening for cupcakes and drinks and a game of pin the tail on the donkey for a chance to win a role in an upcoming webisode.

“I think it went great,” producer Ashley Russell said. “Everybody had a good time.”

She also collected a lot of business cards, to aid in partnerships the Renton film crew wants to develop with area businesses.

Next up for the crew is a commercial for Renton FilmFrenzy 2009. “Finger of God” took top honors at the inaugural version of that contest last year.
